Vlad Petrov - Russia
I was saved from a dodgy investment. Can't thank PlanWriter enough!
Vlad came to us with an investment in mind already, all we had to do was the business plan. But, it wasn't that simple.
We are often approached by sole reps who have opted to invest in a company instead of starting on their own. This is largely successful and we operate our own (free) business matching service as well. However, when you haven't gone through a reputable agent, you may end up getting stung, like Vlad nearly was.Get your visa .
The sole reps.
Vlad had a background in property but this is not allowed in the tier 1 visa scheme. He thus decided to invest in a similar company that would match his skill set but be allowed by the home office.
He used an agent abroad to find a company in the UK and decided to invest in a construction company.
The business Plan.
As this was an investment, the business plan required history of financials and other documents that the company had to provide. Both VisaPlanWriter team and Vlad chased the company but their accounts took a while to get to us. In the end, the financials looked good. However, we were not happy that they took so long and did some investigations. It turned out that the company was hiding a separate bank account - unknown to the investor. Once we told him, he pulled out immediately.
Of course, this made a giant impact on Vlad's visa, as he was intending to invest and apply within 2 weeks. This is a great example of how taking your time and finding a better company is worth the wait. He found another company, we did the due diligence and his solicitors did the rest. Vlad got his VISA and an investment he is happy with.
